Travel Information

If coming from Bournemouth or Poole you can either drive around via Wareham and Swanage                                                                                                                                                                                   or come across the Sandbanks Chain Ferry (a 5 minute journey)

 

Sandbanks Ferry

Please allow time for queuing at busy times such as during Holiday and Weekend periods, especially if the weather is good.

A reduced service operates on Christmas Day and every 2 years the ferry is out of action in November for a few weeks for servicing.

Crossings are every 20 minutes as follows:

Leaving from Sandbanks starting at 7 am and then at 20 mins and 40 mins past each hour and on the hour until 11 pm

Leaving from Shell Bay starting at 7.10 am and then at 30 mins, 50 mins and 10 mins past each hour until 11.10 pm

 

Toll charges:

£1 for Pedestrians (charged one way only from the Sandbanks side)

£1 each way for pedal or motor Cycles

£4.20 each way for Car or Light Vans

(or you can purchase books of tickets for cars in advance which work out cheaper)

 

Travelling by bus

If travelling by bus there are buses to and from Swanage and Bournemouth and Poole and the bus stops are really close by.

Parking

We do not have our own designated parking but there is unrestricted parking on the streets close by.
