Ashtanga self practice intensive week with Helen
1 – 5 August 2016 ( 10.30 am to 1 pm )

This 3 hour workshop will introduce the fundamental foundations of this practice, including breath awareness, posture and the why such a simple daily practice can be an incredible tool for daily life.
It will introduce Ujjayi breathing, Bandha (internal energy ‘locks’), Dristi (focus points), the importance of foundation and explore the sun salutes ‘Surya Namaskara’ and the first few basic standing postures, looking at correct alignment and transitions between asanas.
There will also be an introduction to a short finishing sequence so that you will have a simple, balanced sequence to work with as self practice, either at home or here in the morning Mysore assisted self practice classes.
