Beginners - Supporting your practice

Yoga practice can be a wonderfully simple and effect tool for life long wellness and works on so many levels of our consciousness. A regular practice can help to regulate our nervous system to reduce the effects of stress, help us to sleep better, have more energy, a clearer mind and a strong and flexible body. Most importantly it is a powerful tool for self enquiry and how we are in relationship with the world.

We have shared some simple breath and movement practices in this section that are suitable for anyone new to yoga. If you are interested in delving a little deeper and developing your own self practice, we have also created an in-depth 6 part online course.  You can find out more about this here

It is important not to rush or force any of the practices and to be able to breathe freely as you move into and out of each posture (asana), gradually developing an awareness of your mind and body. If we can move and breathe in a way that supports us in this way we will develop strength, stability and flexibility in both mind and body.

It doesn’t matter what age you are or whether you can touch your toes or not. It is our aim to share these simple and and empowering tools in a supportive and authentic way, so that everyone can ultimately develop their own self practice. We aim to support everyone in a way that meets their individual needs.

There is no substitute for learning in-person, with an experienced teacher that you trust …
